Artist Statement
DRAW STAMP RIP PAINT FELT RUST STITCH
As a fibre artist, working with different materials and techniques allows me to introduce personal experience, existing stories and emotion into my art. It is important for me to retain a sense of inevitable deterioration in my narratives and materials.
My work begins with collecting wool, well loved fabrics, books and artifacts which I pair with my narratives.
With my series “The Decline of the Bee” I include real bees and beeswax to give the viewer a visual and physical experience and to provoke the question “Why are the bees dying?
My series "Pondering" explores the emotions and activities of our years during these unusual times.
I continue to explore life stories with my artwork and enjoy discovering new paths of creativity.
